Stuck in a Rut?!?

I have found myself at a plato.Which, for lack of a better word...sucks! In all honesty, I wasn't trying to think of a better word, that's the one I wanted to use. Moving on.

There comes a point in your health efforts, again, not just talking about weightloss, this can pertain to any physical effort. In my case, it just happens to be a mixture of weightloss and getting healthy and fit. I have another 30# to lose. While that doesn't seem like so much to lose anymore...a year ago, losing those pounds would have been "easy as pie" (it's just a saying; pie is not recommended for weightloss progression). That being said, I have to get a little crazy. When you find yourself at a standstill, you want to change something in your current pattern of things. There are many things you can do. For one, change up your eating. If you are used to eating 1,200 cal everyday, switch it up and have a few 2,000 cal days. You can also increase your physical activity. Say, for example, you run 3 miles everyday. Now after a while, your muscles have gotten used to what you are doing. Throw in some sprinting days or instead of jogging those 3 miles, try faster miles or one at normal pace then a dramatic increase in the next and then go back to normal pace. There are thousands of examples I can give. The point is, we have got to jumpstart our metabolism again. We need to gel up the defibrillator and shock ourselves when in a slump. I hope this entry can help someone who is starting to feel like a failure or like your hard work isn't getting you anywhere. You just need to change things up a bit. WE WILL GET THERE! I leave us with a quote: "NOTHING IN THE WORLD CAN TAKE THE PLACE OF PERSISTENCE. TALENT WILL NOT; NOTHING IS MORE COMMON THAN UNSUCCESSFUL MEN WITH TALENT. GENIUS WILL NOT; UNREWARDED GENIUS IS ALMOST PROVERB. EDUCATION WILL NOT; THE WORLD IS FULL OF EDUCATED DERELICTS. PERSISTENCE AND DETERMINATION ALONE ARE ONMIPOTENT. THE SLOGAN 'PRESS ON' HAS SOLVED AND ALWAYS WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEMS OF THE HUMAN RACE.  ~ CALVIN COOLIDGE
