Heavy Lifting, Anyone?

Okay, so I am trying my hand at Olympic Weightlifting! What does that mean? Well, I learn the nitty gritty's of the Snatch and Clean & Jerk. So far....so good. I am really enjoying it. As stated before, women, don't be scared to lift some weight over your head. Muscle plays a great role in increased metabolism, strengthens bones, and assists in weightloss in a significant way. Olympic Weightliftng is different from Body Building. In fact, Olympic Weightlifters are in most cases, stronger that Body Builders. The body builder tends to look stronger and "blown up" physically, but you would too, with the right "supplements". If you check out olympic weightlifting men and women, they are more lean in their body and many don't even look like they lift weights. That's the kind of weightlifter I want to be looking like. I wanna be the cute and feminine chick that can lift heavy things over her head. Guys and gals...give it a try. Many of you will be surprised on how much you can actually lift. It gives you a great sense of empowerment and accomplishment. BE ADVISED...if you are not trained on proper form, make sure you have some one who is showing you the ropes, no matter how light you go on the weights. Proper form is key. Like any sport, there is always a risk of injury, but with the right form, you'll be good to go! SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? GO LIFT SOMETHING HEAVY! EMPOWER YOURSELF!!! :)
